‘You need masculinity and femininity’: Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan slams wokery and culture wars as the ‘work of the devil’ in illuminating chat with Joe Rogan
Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan sat down with Joe Rogan to lament the decline of American culture, including the work ethic going “bad” and toxic masculinity.
Sheridan, 53, is an American actor, writer and producer, known for the hit TV series Yellowstone and its sequels 1883 and 1923.
Joining Rogan, the controversial podcaster and conspirator, Sheridan expressed his views on the decline of American values.
The pair watched a video of a monologue called “If I were the Devil: A Warning to America from Paul Harvey,” which they both found inspiring.
The 1965 monologue addressed those who were “destroying” American culture by warning against “extremes and hard work” and disenfranchising those who have until the “stimulus of the ambitious” is killed.

“Wow, April 3, 1965. Paul Harvey nailed it,” Rogan said after playing the poem.
“You can use the Devil as a euphemism for all you want,” Sheridan said, “but the result is the same. We see.’
Sheridan went on to complain that the “work ethic” is bad these days and that “all these things are racist.”
Rogan then brought up how masculinity was labeled as “toxic” – a topic he brings up in most episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience.
“Oh yeah, that’s what I’ve been accused of,” Sheridan said as Rogan chuckled.
‘Congratulations. You’re on the right side,” Rogan told Sheridan.
Rogan then discussed defunding the police in relation to toxic masculinity, saying that “they all fall into the same category of things” that “seem foolish to think.”
“You need masculinity and femininity,” Rogan said. “Be whatever you are, but you fucking need it.
“And if you want to tell those guys who play football that they’re toxically masculine… Who else do you get? Who else is going to play football other than the super-aggressive alpha males?’
“That’s not toxic,” Sheridan agreed.
“That’s obviously male behavior,” Rogan continued in his tirade. ‘It’s not poisonous. It’s all stupid.’
Sheridan then claimed that language is being reinvented before our eyes to prevent one person from disagreeing with another.
“I like microaggressions,” Sheridan said.
Rogan agreed, saying, “Oh, that’s great.”

Sheridan was recently involved in a legal battle with one of the stars of Yellowstone.
Bosque Ranch, a vast business empire founded by Sheridan, has filed a lawsuit against Free Rein, the coffee company of Yellowstone star Cole Hauser.
The trademark infringement lawsuit filed Nov. 21 in the Northern District of Texas accuses Free Rein of “unfair competition and false advertising.”
Bosque Ranch, which also has a coffee range, claims Free Rein “uses a mark strikingly similar to Bosque Ranch’s registered trademark, potentially misleading consumers.”
The Bosque Ranch mark includes the letters B and R as a cattle brand, while Free Rein also includes the letters F and R.
This latest drama between the Yellowstone mastermind and one of its stars comes after Sheridan’s other highly publicized feud with Kevin Costner, who plays Dutton family patriarch John Dutton.
