A suspected stalker claiming Shakira is his wife has been arrested outside her Miami home after allegedly sending her gifts of wine, chocolate and toys in the mail.

Daniel John Valtier was taken into custody Monday and charged with stalking, according to an arrest report.

The 56-year-old, from El Paso, Texas, reportedly shared several social media posts about Shakira, which were turned over to authorities by her security team on January 3.

He showed up at the singer’s house just five days later at 12.45pm in a taxi before being arrested.

Valtier was jailed and appeared in court on Tuesday, where he said he could not comply with an order to keep his distance from the Colombian singer.

“She is my wife,” he told the judge. “I talk to her all the time.”

It is unclear if Shakira was at the home when the suspect arrived and was quickly taken into custody.

Shakira’s security team told Valtier to stop sending her gifts and posting details about her online.

But they became concerned when they saw an Instagram post in which he reportedly bragged about his visit to the artist’s Miami Beach home and shared a photo of a business card for a motel in Florida.

Valtier was charged with stalking and renting a vehicle with intent to defraud for failing to pay the $70 fare.

Prosecutors asked to have him held on $50,000 when he appeared in court Tuesday.

The judge ordered Valtier to stay away from Shakira and not make contact, despite the suspect’s claims that they are married.

“No sir, she is not your wife,” the judge replied. “I have some concerns right now, real concerns, because this man is delusional.”

The judge then doubled the bond to $100,000 and ordered Valtier to stop sending packages and trying to talk to Shakira.

In an earlier post, the suspected stalker wrote about how he would marry the singer and open a business with her. He talked about how he had a relationship with her children and then told them their names.

‘They will adopt children when I am also married. Shakira, she also wants to be American like her father, and share the rest of her life with me. We will own a trucking company, sing songs, promote them, manage and own a clothing manufacturing company worldwide,” he wrote .

Valtier has a criminal history dating back to 1988 and has been arrested for charges including drugs, aggravated assault, driving under the influence and public intoxication.

He was last arrested in El Paso in 2019 for criminal trespass, according to jail records.

The stalking arrest comes months after Shakira settled her tax fraud case in Spain. The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker slammed Spanish authorities for targeting “high-profile individuals” after she was hit with a $5 million fine on top of a $19 million tax bill for financial fraud.

Shakira was handed a seven-figure fine as part of a deal that allows her to avoid jail time and ends a lengthy fraud trial in Barcelona before it even began.

The singer, who has a net worth of about $304 million, insisted she was innocent but said she made the decision to “spare my children when they saw their mother sacrifice her well-being.”

“I greatly admire those who fought this injustice to the end, but for me, winning today means getting back time for my children and my career,” she said in a statement.

She also slammed Spanish authorities for pursuing her, saying her case was similar to others in which authorities went after “athletes and other high-profile individuals.” Such cases, she said, “drain those people’s energy, time and peace of mind for years.”
