I’m a stylist and there is one thing I will never let my clients wear: ‘It’s a big ick’
A stylist has revealed something she would never dress her clients in, dividing thousands.
Kristine said she would never advise her clients to wear clothing with rhinestones or pearls attached to it because it “looks cheap” and is “difficult to maintain.”
Fashion enthusiasts were quick to agree with the stylist’s popular opinion, but others said they loved their pearl and jeweled outfits.
Kristine said garments with faux pearls and diamonds are a styling no-go because they are “not practical.”
‘I just think it looks cheap. I would suggest wearing pearls and rhinestones as accessories and shoes instead,” she recommended in a TikTok video.

Stylist Kristine has revealed that she would never recommend clothes with fake pearls and rhinestones to her clients as she thinks they look ‘cheap’ and are ‘difficult to maintain’.
Her video has been viewed more than 2.4 million times and style enthusiasts are applauding the sage advice.
“Big ickkkk,” said one woman, and another replied, “That’s true! Not worth it.’
“I’ve been saying this for years,” a third agreed.
‘I like pearls. However, rhinestones often look cheap,” added a fourth.
Others were concerned about the durability of clothing with the fake stones.
“I’d be afraid my other clothes would tear in the wash,” said one viewer.
“They look cute but they won’t last a day in the washing machine, they’ll probably rip out,” a second commented.
Some argued that the accessorized clothes looked “cheap” at fast fashion stores like Zara and H&M, but were excusable at expensive designers like Miu Miu.
However, many felt that there was nothing wrong with clothing with ‘pretty’ pearls and ‘sparkling’ rhinestones.
“It’s hard to pass on this advice,” one woman joked.
“No thanks, I love my pearl shirts too much,” wrote a second.
“It’s actually a great option if you want to dress up your casual outfit,” one person commented.
“Depending on how it’s styled,” another added.
