Prince Harry paid £30,000 for a private jet to reach Balmoral on the day the Queen died.

Harry and Meghan happened to be in the UK when news of the Queen’s ill health came out.

King Charles and Princess Anne were with the Queen in Balmoral, while Prince Andrew, Prince William and Prince Edward were taken to Aberdeen Airport by royal jet.

Harry, no longer a working royal since moving to California with Meghan, spoke to King Charles who reportedly made “very clear” Meghan Markle was not welcome, reports say.

Britain’s new king called his youngest son and told him it was “not appropriate” for the former Suits actress to be there, much to Harry’s frustration.

It is also alleged that in the ensuing altercation, in which Harry fought to persuade his father to allow Meghan to go with him, Harry missed a flight carrying William and their uncles Andrew and Edward to Scotland – and with it the chance to say goodbye.

A private plane was then mapped out to get Harry to Balmoral as soon as possible to join the rest of the royal family.

Although initial reports suggested that Harry learned about the Queen’s death through a phone call from his father, The Telegraph reported that the call never went through.

King Charles repeatedly tried to reach Harry, who knew he was trying to contact him, but was unable to talk to his son before the Queen died.

Instead, Harry learned that Her Majesty had relayed a breaking news report on his phone.

However, sources in the palace insist the official announcement was “not made until all family members were informed.”

A source said: “The official announcement was postponed until after everyone had been told,” a source said.

“Part of the problem was getting hold of the Duke of Sussex.”

In photos of Harry arriving in Balmoral by car, the Prince looked gloomy and dejected.

Once there, he reportedly turned down dinner with the king in anger at Meghan not being allowed to join him in Balmoral.

He reportedly ate with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex instead.

Others have denied these claims, with a source saying that “no dinner invitation has been made.”

Another added: ‘This is all less coordinated and chaotic than people might think.

“It was a hard and disturbing day for everyone.”
