Norwich City co-owner Delia Smith claimed she was 'saddened' that Ipswich Town had not yet apologized to her after a can was thrown at her car ahead of the 2-2 draw last month.

A video shows Smith's car arriving at Portman Road for the match on December 16, as cans of larger ones appear to be thrown at the vehicle, while shouts of 'scum' are heard from the crowd.

Fans had gathered around a road leading to the stadium to greet the players as they arrived for the match.

Smith's car followed the team coaches and a police van to the ground, while several other missiles were thrown toward the vehicle.

Smith and her husband Michael Wynn Jones released a statement on Friday about the incident, thanking Ipswich fans for their messages of support, with some even sending flowers.

“Delia and Michael would like to thank all the Ipswich Town supporters who continue to send messages of support and even flowers after the event to apologize for what took place during the derby match,” it said.

“There has been a very good relationship with Ipswich Town during our 28-year tenure, and we are saddened that we have yet to receive a public apology.”

Smith and her husband are majority owners of the football club, along with Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio.

Ipswich have reportedly yet to comment on the incident.

The pair took over Sir Geoffrey Watling's share of the club in 1997.

Smith, a chef and television presenter, was also seen laughing in a video with Ed Sheeeran after the match.

The singer, a keen Ipswich Town supporter, posted a video to his Instagram account of himself joking with Smith and asking her: 'Did you win?'

“No,” she replied in dismay, before Sheeran said: “Did we win?”. Smith then said, “No.”

The two clubs meet again later this season on April 6, with Ipswich sitting second in the Championship, ten points behind Leicester, while Norwich sit in thirteenth place, having failed to win in their last three games.
