Aaron Rodgers has been voted by teammates as the Jets' most inspirational player for the 2023 season, despite the quarterback's campaign lasting just four starts.

“I've said it a million times, he loves his teammates, and his teammates love him,” head coach Robert Saleh said. 'He's a wonderful person. He really deserves this award.”

Rodgers has played a huge role during the Jets' season, even after tearing his Achilles tendon just minutes into his debut against the Buffalo Bills on September 11.

It was hoped that his arrival would be a catalyst for New York to end its wait for a playoff run. His absence was then considered a deciding factor in the Jets' disappointing season.

Rodgers has never given up hope of defying medical expectations and returning from surgery before the end of the campaign.

He was back in practice after just 11 weeks — well ahead of the usual schedule — but the Jets' inability to make the postseason dashed his hopes of playing again in 2023.

“It's inspiring, man,” left tackle Duane Brown said, per ESPN. “That's one of the hardest injuries to come back from.

“It was remarkable to see his recovery, even without being on the field. And the attitude he has: I'm sure everyday life is not easy, but he doesn't complain about it.

'He keeps everything light and the atmosphere light. He's having fun out there. He's just very youthful in his approach. Like I said: it's inspiring, motivating and unprecedented.'

Rodgers completed much of his rehabilitation away from the team and was working on his health again in California. But the four-time MVP still found himself on the sidelines for many games in New York.

“He's so intentional in the way he approaches everyone in the building. He's very thoughtful in the way he does things,” added Saleh, whose team heads to the Patriots on Sunday for the final game of a 6-10 season.

However, Rodgers continued to make headlines during his recovery. Earlier this week, the quarterback joked that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel could be on the list of financier Jeffrey Epstein's disgraced associates.

ABC star Kimmel threatened to sue the four-time NFL MVP, labeling him an “asshole” and accusing him of endangering his family. The pair have been eating beef since 2021.
