I'm afraid you can't even escape Microsoft Teams calls in your car now
Getting some relief from Microsoft Teams alerts while driving may soon get a little trickier thanks to a new update that will let users make calls in even more types of cars.
Microsoft has confirmed that its videoconferencing service will soon be upgraded to Google's Android Auto platform, meaning users will be able to join meetings and make calls from their cars with the software installed.
More specifically, users can join meetings directly from the Microsoft Teams calendar view, allowing them to get involved in the conversations they need much faster.

In the official Microsoft 365 roadmap entrythe company noted that this feature allows users to quickly call your speed dial contacts and view your recent calls on your Android phones. Due care and attention still needs to be paid to the road while driving, so hopefully the conversations that take place can also be audio-only, allowing users to keep their eyes on the road.
The update is listed as “in development” but has an expected rollout start date of February 2024, so users won't have to wait too long to try it out.
The news comes nearly a year after the company first announced that users of Apple's Car Play platform could join more calls and meetings, following an update to the new calendar view that allowed users to join a Microsoft Teams event while driving with their iPhone -conversation.
Microsoft Teams users have been able to dial-in with Apple CarPlay since September 2021, as well as the ability to call and message Teams contacts from most modern vehicles – although video feeds from meetings won't appear on the dashboard.
The company also recently announced an update that will allow users to manage calendar notifications directly in their Microsoft Teams Activity Feed, meaning there will no longer be a bit of scrambling between apps and services to silence an annoying pop-up or alert.
