Persona 3 Reload's opening cinematic pays tribute to the original's iconic theme song
The introductory film for Person 3 Reload was released by Atlus, and it's just as bold and stylish as fans of the series have come to expect.
This remake of one of PlayStation 2's best RPGs will eventually launch on February 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, last-gen consoles, and on day one on Xbox Game Pass. And now we have to wait for this beautiful introductory series Person 3 Reload just a little bit more difficult.
The animation was uploaded to Atlus' official YouTube channel and starts with Person 3s main character flipping through songs on an MP3 player, in case you forgot the game is set in 2007. The player briefly references the original game's opening theme, the fantastic Burn my fear. But the new intro song – titled Full moon, full of life – wears Burn my fear common thread throughout. And it wouldn't be Person 3 without rapper Lotus Juice, who returns to lend his voice Reload's soundtrack alongside new singer Azumi Takahashi.
The opening animation shows all the hallmarks of one Persona series introduction. Bright colors are used throughout, contrasting strongly with the largely monochrome backgrounds. We also go through the game's cast of playable party members, including Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, and Mitsuru Kirijo, as well as get a sense of their personalities and backgrounds.
In case you are unfamiliar, Person 3 Reload is a complete remake of the PS2 original, which is fondly remembered as one of the best games for the console. In the turn-based RPG, a group of high school students investigate a supernatural tower called Tartarus that only appears during the Dark Hour – a mysterious block of time that occurs every day after midnight. Outside of Tartarus, spend your days at school or improving relationships with your party members to unlock more of their story and additional advantages in battle.
