Katie Holmes' ex Emilio Vitolo Jr. is engaged to Sammy Piccininni, after a romantic proposal on New Year's Eve.

The restaurateur, 34, popped the question at his speakeasy Da Milio in New York City, while his wife-to-be, 25, announced the happy news via her Instagram on New Year's Day.

The TikTok influencer – who welcomed a daughter with Emilio in June – shared a black and white photo of the couple beaming at the camera as she showed off her sparkling diamond ring.

The next slide was a short black-and-white clip of Emilio — who split from Holmes, 45, in May 2021 — and Sammy kissing after the proposal.

'Starting this new year in the best way imaginable. It's the honor of my life to spend forever with you, my soulmate,” Sammy wrote in the caption of the post.

In the snap, Vitolo looked as handsome as ever, wearing a suit and tie, while Sammy stunned in a black dress.

The pair started dating in August 2022 and share six-month-old daughter Angelina Marie, who they welcomed in June.

A few days after Vitolo revealed the proposal, he proposed to Sammy in front of close family and friends and said he was 'super f*****g nervous' as he shared details of the engagement to People.

“I said 2023 was going to be my year, and honestly, it was. I got engaged, I had a beautiful child. My daughter is now six months old. I opened (Da Milio), so I got a lot of things I was happy to check off the box.”

The chef and actor added that he and Piccininni have not started planning their wedding yet because they are excited to be engaged.

'We'll see what happens. As for me, I don't like to force anything. (We) just got engaged. There's no reason to put a flame on it.'

Emilio also talked about fatherhood: “Having a girl is the most beautiful thing there is,” he said.

“I used to have my ways and it really clicked when my daughter first smiled at me and first laughed at me, and then I thought, something just snapped in my head.”

In July, Sammy announced that the couple welcomed their first child into the world, sharing three adorable images on Instagram with the caption, “I'm in awe of how God has blessed us. Mommy and Daddy are so in love with you, little girl.”

The month before, the couple celebrated with loved ones at a beautiful outdoor baby shower.

The couple, who officially confirmed their relationship in August, shared the news and highlights of the celebration on both their Instagram accounts, writing: “Half me and half you, we're having a baby girl.”

Sammy showed off her tiny baby bump in a form-fitting white bodycon dress, while her partner looked comfortable in a cream jumper and dark trousers.

When cutting the treat, it was revealed that the upcoming arrival would be a girl, as evidenced by the pink filling between the layers.

Before meeting Sammy, Emilio dated Batman star Katie for about eight months before they went their separate ways in May 2021.

The couple started dating in September and seemed to be going full steam ahead, with reports saying she thought the relationship could last 'all the way'.

But in April it was claimed the pair were 'taking up space', before their official split was revealed less than a month later.

It was reported that 'different schedules and different commitments' were partly to blame, with Katie filming a romantic feature abroad and Emilio trying to nurture his own acting career alongside his work at his family's restaurant.

Emilio is head chef at favorite Italian spot Emilio's Ballato in Soho, originally opened by his father Emilio Vitolo Sr. in the early '90s.

The family business is run by both his parents and his two brothers who work alongside him.
