A massive fire has broken out on a residential street in Sydney's inner west.
Firefighters rushed to a two-storey warehouse on Elizabeth Street in Croydon on Friday morning after reports a fire had broken out just meters from houses.
Up to seven fire engines and paramedics were sent to the scene as residents waited nervously in the streets after being evacuated from their homes.
There is a gas station on one side of the building and houses on the other.
No one was injured in the fire as of 6 a.m. It is believed that no one is in the warehouse. The nearby buildings have been evacuated as a precaution.

Firefighters were seen using aerial devices to shoot water into the burning building in an attempt to gain control of the flames.
A resident told the media that e-bikes containing lithium batteries known to cause fires were stored in the building.
Residents in the Inner West have been told to avoid Elizabeth Street, which is closed between Frederick and Edwin streets.
The warehouse is considered too dangerous for firefighters to enter.
