Are Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann back together? Aston Villa’s power couple smile and cuddle in New Year’s Day snap just over a year after reported break-up following Swiss raunchy calendar shoot

  • Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz shared the love on Instagram as 2024 arrived
  • They reportedly split in late 2022 after Lehmann's risqué calendar shoot
  • How on earth can Chelsea let one of their best players and deputy captain Conor Gallagher go to fierce rivals Tottenham? It all starts

Aston Villa stars Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann appear to have rekindled their romance after they both shared photos of them embracing to celebrate the New Year.

The two looked into each other's eyes and smiled as they stood in a tunnel full of white balloons in a shot Lehmann shared on Instagram on New Year's Day.

Then, on Tuesday afternoon, Luiz followed up with a photo of his own, hugging them on his own Instagram Story — with a highly suggestive love heart emoji to boot.

Their flame appears to have been rekindled after they reportedly split in November 2022, with Lehmann's flashy calendar shoot for the following year causing problems in the relationship.

Luiz was not happy with her decision to take part in the shoot, which led to heated arguments between the couple after a year together, according to The sun.

However, it appears they have settled their differences, even though Lehmann has a similar calendar this year.

In addition to the one with just two people, Lehmann, 24, shared a group photo of family and friends, with Luiz's arm around her waist.

Lehmann, a Swiss international, signed for Aston Villa Women in June 2021 and has since been a key player in their top-flight battles.

In December, she helped her country to a surprise 1-0 victory over World Cup semi-finalists Sweden in the Nations League – and was left with a bloodied face due to her troubles after a nasty collision.

She is the most followed female footballer in the world with 16.3 million fans on Instagram – which is far less than her counterpart's million.
