Tom Brady joked that he would retire again in May when the NFL legend posted a series of family snaps on New Year's Eve.

The legendary NFL quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion is making the most of his first year as a football player.

He has been on a number of holidays and spent time with his loved ones, most recently going skiing over the holidays with his three children Jack, 16, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.

In the post, Brady said he has been “grateful” over the past 12 months and “blessed to have family and friends around me full of love, joy and compassion.”

But he ended the caption by joking that he planned to lace up his shoes for the season before friends threw him a party to celebrate his retirement.

In his Instagram post, Brady wrote, “I look back on 2023 with gratitude for every moment.

'Cherish the highs, learn from the lows and look forward to what is to come. I am blessed to have family and friends who are filled with so much love, joy and compassion around me.

“As you get older, you realize that this is really the only thing that matters, and I will never take these people for granted.

“Hug your kids, call your parents, tell your friends you love them, and let's all help make 2024 a kinder and happier year for everyone in our lives.

'(PS: The only downside of 2023 was when I was about to retire in May and my friends threw a surprise retirement party. I kind of forced it).

Had Brady decided to retire, this would have been the 45-year-old's second sensational return to the NFL.

The former Patriots quarterback retired after the 2021 season, but announced less than two months later that he would be back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady finally called time on his playing career in February and has spent the past nine months taking time away from football.

Next season, Brady will begin a 10-year contract with FOX as an NFL analyst, worth a whopping $375 million.
