A Premier League footballer is reportedly being investigated by police over claims he racially abused a staff member at a luxury apartment.

According to The SunThe alleged victim – a caretaker born in England to Senegalese-Gambian parents – said the footballer called him the N-word twice after arriving in the early hours of the morning to block out the smell of alcohol.

The incident reportedly took place on December 10 after the player angrily demanded a key from the 50-year-old.

The man said he did not know who the player was at the time. He reported his allegations to the Metropolitan Police and the players' club. According to the outlet, both confirmed that a complaint had been filed.

The apartment worker, who was a temporary worker at the reception, recounted the ordeal, claiming the player quickly lost his temper after becoming 'agitated'.

'I wanted to get him in. But as soon as he saw me, he demanded: 'My key?' he told The Sun.

The employee claims that to solve the problem, they asked the footballer to write down his details.

However, as a temporary staff member, they were unable to access the systems without a supervisor present, leading to increased player frustration.

He continued: 'Then he started to lose his patience and told me to give him the 'damn key'. Then he called me ac***.
