In recent weeks, Lawrence has suffered an injury and his performance has suffered, while the Jaguars' season has also faltered. Jacksonville has lost four games in a row.
Beathard has replaced the starting quarterback twice in the last four weeks, but now he's ready to make his first start for the franchise.
The 8-7 Jaguars remain atop the AFC South despite the four-game skid. Jacksonville faces the Panthers and Tennessee Titans in its final two games.
Lawrence has completed 65.5 percent of his passes in the 2023 season, throwing 19 touchdowns (and 12 interceptions) while also rushing for four more scores.
