A banner year for David Beckham's empire, with turnover doubling to £72 million
Cashing in: Brand Beckham increased sales to £72.6 million
David Beckham's empire more than doubled its turnover last year after raking in cash from deals including a controversial role as ambassador to the Qatar World Cup.
Brand Beckham increased sales from £34.2 million in 2021 to £72.6 million in 2022. Most of that came from brand partnerships and licensing deals with companies such as Maserati.
DRJB Holdings' latest accounts also include payments for the former England captain's role at the World Cup in Qatar, sparking attacks from critics highlighting Qatar's human rights record. He reportedly pocketed £10 million from the partnership.
The accounts filed at Companies House also include income from TV company Studio 99, which produced this year's Beckham documentary on Netflix.
Beckham, 48, sold 55 percent of his company to US group Authentic Brands last year in a strategic partnership worth £200 million. His business also includes endorsement deals with Tudor watches and his Haig whiskey brand.
This year he signed a contract with Nespresso and has 'a healthy pipeline of new business', according to DRJB.
His wife Victoria's fashion label made a profit for the first time. The accounts showed that shareholders, including the Beckhams, put £6.9 million into it.
