Aussie man’s ‘astonishing’ claim about men and marriage: ‘They’re all lying’

An Australian man believes he has revealed a relationship secret that 'most men' keep from their girlfriends.

Jake Craigwho co-hosts a popular lifestyle podcast, recently divided fans when he said men who claim they don't want to get married are lying.

“To all the ladies with a boyfriend who always talks about how they don't want to get married, we say that to get attention,” he said in a video.

He claimed that men want women to say, “No, but I really want to marry you,” because they want confirmation of affection.

It turns out the tactic also worked the other way around – after a single woman revealed men 'pursued her' when she declared she didn't want to marry them.

A few women were hesitant to believe Jake's statement; they claimed they didn't want to hurt themselves in the long run.

'Why would you say that?' someone asked. “Don't let us become delusional.”

“Don't lie to me, I'm vulnerable!” said another.

“I feel like I've never met a man who's just joking,” one woman revealed. “I wouldn't trust it.”

But some said it “made a lot of sense.”

“Oh, this explains why my ex got so angry after he said this to all his friends in front of me and I said, 'I don't expect to marry you anyway,'” one woman said.

Others thought it was about men embracing their feminine energy.

“Men are actually such girls, it's so funny,” one woman said.

“Men want to be the princess so bad,” wrote another.

A third was unimpressed: 'This gives me the creeps. It gives girls energy. Men pursue women to get married, not the other way around.”

Still, many didn't believe Jake's confession.

'One of my younger brothers has been saying this to his girlfriend for twelve years. She is the only girlfriend he has had and they have a baby,” one woman said.

“I'd be made to say, 'Why are we dating then?'” one person said.

“Actually my boyfriend just doesn't want me to take his money,” a third added.

'No, it's just immature and not knowing what you want. If you can't also say, 'I want to marry you so bad,' then you don't deserve her,” one woman wrote.
