In a breakdown of her year's dramas and events, Tik Toker and podcaster Alix Earle gave her listeners and followers insight into her recent breakup with MLB player Tyler Wade.
On the “Tea of 2023” episode of her podcast “Hot Mess with Alix Earle,” she talked about her relationship with the former Oakland A's star — who recently signed with the San Diego Padres in the offseason.
Earle previously said she broke up with Wade because he wouldn't post her on his social media accounts. But in the episode, she says her breakup with Wade — who she calls “Baseball Boy” on her show — was due to toxicity in their relationship.
She also praised her current boyfriend, Miami Dolphins receiver Braxton Berrios (whom she calls “NFL Man”) for allowing her to be more independent.
Reflecting on her relationship with Wade, Earle said, “It was such a toxic relationship and that's why I got to the point of 'oh, he didn't post me, we broke up.' That was just one of the things we would argue about.

The social media star called her relationship with the former Oakland A's infielder 'toxic'
'We only had a relationship for three months, so it didn't get really serious. Everything I did continued. He wasn't supportive at all, especially when it came to social media.
“So the fact that NFL Man is now supporting me and letting me edit a video on my phone without yelling at me is kind of nice to see.
“So when I started dating Baseball Boy, I was just coming out of my freshman year of college. This MLB player hits me up, I'm like “oh my god, this is so cool”. We started hanging out and talking.
“And mind you, this was in my acne era… so the fact that someone liked me, let alone thought he was actually cool in my eyes… all warnings just went out the window.
She continued, “He was very nice at first. We started dating and at the same time I started gaining a following on social media – and for some reason he gained momentum. Like that was just not okay for him.
'He was literally so toxic that I came over to hang out with him and he said, “Oh, we're not going to talk tonight, don't talk, I've been talking too much today”… We were literally sitting around. there in silence… I picked up my phone to take a picture, he shouted at me.
'I'm someone who doesn't stand for that, so that's why we only had a relationship for three months.
“He would 'like' any bikini photo, lingerie photo from an Instagram model… it didn't matter to him, he told me it made him feel better.

Earle added that over the course of their relationship, Wade would “never come hang out with my friends” at her college house.
She added, “It was so toxic and not good, and that's okay. We love a bit of a toxic relationship, but for me it just didn't last.
When it came to the situation of Wade not posting her on his social media, Earle said the issue wasn't really about the lack of messages (especially since the relationship was so new).
On the contrary: 'He lied to my face about his reasoning and it bothered me… He said 'people my age [28] don't post their significant others on their Instagram, you're young [21]so you don't get it.”
That was just one of the many reasons she decided to end things with Wade – a topic she wanted to avoid for a while.
“I go online, I talk shit, and I felt so guilty and so bad about it. But now that I've taken a year off from talking about this subject, I realize that so many bad and terrible things happened in that relationship that 1703793685 I felt comfortable talking about it.”
