Teen doctor sensation Luke Littler told his mother that 'the dream continues' after reaching the round of 16 of the PDC World Championship.
The 16-year-old became the youngest player in the tournament's history to reach the third round when he produced a stunning performance to beat Matt Campbell 4-1 on Wednesday evening.
Littler's calmness belies his young age, but the Warrington-born prodigy revealed he became emotional after seeing his mother in the crowd at Alexandra Palace.
“I started crying when I saw my mother in the crowd,” he said.
'She was nervous. I told her, “The dream continues.” She said the same thing.'

Littler celebrated his second round victory with a kebab and vowed to follow suit after beating Campbell, before treating himself to a shopping spree on Thursday.
“I'll stay in the hotel, relax tomorrow, treat myself to more shoes and trousers, relax and see who I play in the next round,” he said.
“It's a good performance overall, it's not like the first round. I said I could win with the lowest average of the tournament, I'm just happy I got through.”
Littler, who won the World Youth Championship in November, is guaranteed to pocket £35,000 as a result of reaching the last 16.
And the teenager could meet his hero Raymond van Barneveld in the next round if the Dutchman manages to beat Jim Williams on Friday.
Littler averaged 97.19 as he defeated Matt Campbell in five sets on Wednesday night
The 16-year-old threw eight 180s and produced three checkouts of over 100
Littler grew up idolizing the Dutchman and admitted it would be 'incredible' to meet the five-time world champion. Van Barneveld won the PDC title in 2007 after winning four BDO world titles.
'I have nothing to lose for myself, I have achieved too much again. Now I can just settle,” he said.
'My game is there [to win it] but I can take even more pleasure, Jim or Raymond next, I'm just happy.
“If Raymond beats Jim, it would be incredible to play him and win or lose against either of them. I'm still happy to get to the last 16 of the World Cup, but I would like to play a few more games. '
It will take something special to stop Littler, who averaged 97.19 when dismantling Campbell.
The teenager hit eight 180s and produced three 100-plus checkouts, including a majestic 164 in the fifth set, and looked in complete control for most of the match.
After winning the first three sets, Littler's accuracy dipped in the fourth when Campbell got on the board, but the 16-year-old closed the fifth set emphatically as his two sets. More than 100 cash registers.
