Noida Police issues advice for New Year's Eve, drunk drivers on radar

The Noida Police on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory for December 31, warning the public about diversions that will take place near busy markets and malls on New Year's Eve.

Police also warned of strict action in the form of heavy fines and vehicle seizures against those who violate traffic rules, especially in cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In the advisory, the police said that various traffic arrangements and diversions will be put in place to reduce traffic congestion on the roads on New Year's Eve.

The diversions will take place near the Sector 18 market, malls such as the Greater Indian Place, DLF Mall of India, Gardens Galleria, Center Stage Mall, Logix, Spectrum, Starling Edge, SkyOne and the Advant Navis in Noida and Ansal, Venice Mall and Gaur City Mall, Pari Chow, Jagat Farm in Greater Noida, as per the police advisory.

Police advised people to park their vehicles only in designated parking spaces and not leave them on the road or in unauthorized areas.

“In case of traffic disruption, please contact the traffic helpline number – 9971009001. Use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience,” the police said in the advisory.
