Tense moment student tells Bridget Ziegler she should be FIRED from school board ‘because you’re terrible at your job, not because you had a threesome’ – after her husband Christian was accused of raping woman in their ‘ménage a trois’

A former high school student in Florida demanded that the co-founder of the conservative activist group Moms For Liberty resign from the school board — not because she had a threesome, but rather because she was “terrible” at her job.

Bridget Ziegler, a close ally of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and a strong voice against LGBTQ rights, was forced to attend an excruciating December 12 meeting of the Sarasota County School Board, on which she also serves.

The board meeting was used to outline allegations that she had had a threesome with another woman and her husband, and that her husband, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, had been accused of rape.

Since the allegations emerged, Christian Ziegler has retained his position as GOP chairman but has been stripped of his salary and authority.

Ziegler sat with a straight face throughout the meeting and was confronted by Zander Moricz, a former class president of the Pine View School who is now at Harvard.

Moricz, who is gay, said Ziegler should resign because she was not qualified to serve on the school board.

“Bridget, our first ever interaction was when you retweeted a hate article against me from Nationalist when I was a high school student in Sarasota County,” Moricz said.

“You don't deserve to be on the Sarasota County School Board, but you also don't deserve to be kicked out because you had a threesome.

“That undermines the lesson we were trying to teach you, which is that a politician's job is to serve his community, not to police his personal life.

“Bridget, you deserve to be fired for being bad at your job. Not because you had a threesome.”

Moricz, who now runs a nonprofit that encourages young people to get involved in politics, is a plaintiff in the “Don't Say Gay” lawsuit against DeSantis and the state of Florida.

Ziegler was instrumental in crafting the “Don't Say Gay” bill, which prevents discussion of LGBTQ issues from kindergarten through third grade, and only in a limited way with older students. Critics like Moricz say it is an attempt to remove gays from society.

Moricz accused his school's administrators of censorship in 2022 after he was told he could not refer to his activism or sexuality in his graduation speech.

In his speech he referred to sexuality with the euphemism 'curly hair'.

At its Dec. 12 meeting, the school board voted to remove Ziegler, but the vote was non-binding.

DeSantis was able to force her out, but the school board stopped writing him to request her removal.

Her husband, meanwhile, may face possible removal from office at a Jan. 8 rally in Tallahassee. On December 17, he was censured by the party.

The incident, which according to the police report took place at a home in Sarasota, was reported to police in early October.

Since the allegations emerged, Christian Ziegler has retained his position as GOP chairman, but on December 17 he was stripped of his salary and authority.

The accuser, who has known Ziegler for 20 years, told police that when Bridget backed out of the plan to have sex, she sent Christian a text saying, “Sorry I was mainly after her,” according to an affidavit .

Later that night, the woman claims she discovered Ziegler outside in the hallway as she left her apartment – and claims he then entered her property and raped her.

Weeks later, detectives began monitoring Christian Ziegler's calls and messages to the accuser, the affidavit said.

'Where are you? Do you want to meet and chat? Worried about you. You are my friend,” Ziegler allegedly wrote in a message via Instagram.

“No, not after what you did to me,” the woman replied. “Don't you understand that I'm terrified of you?”

A 911 call obtained by the Florida Center for Government Accountability made by a friend of the alleged victim shows she confided in the friend about her rape.

“She told me she had been raped,” the friend told the dispatcher on October 4.

“She says she's scared, that the person who raped her has come to her house, so she's scared to leave… I'm worried about her now,” the friend explained.

In text and phone conversations monitored by investigators, Ziegler offered the woman “financial assistance” before he suspected they were being recorded.

Ziegler's attorney, Derek Byrd, said in a statement: “We acknowledge reports that Mr. Ziegler is under investigation by the Sarasota Police Department.”

He said his client has “cooperated fully” with police.

“We are confident that once the police investigation is complete, no charges will be filed and that Mr. Ziegler will be fully exonerated.”

Bridget Ziegler has not commented on the trio, nor on the allegations against her husband.
