Netflix releases trailer for part two of the streaming service’s most expensive movie – which cost a whopping $166 MILLION
Netflix has unpacked the trailer for the second part of the series Rebel Moon Monday.
The streamer, which announced an April 2024 release date for chapter two in the Zack Snyder-helmed Passion project, released the two-minute preview on Christmas morning.

The film, a sequel to Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, which began streaming on December 22, centers on Kora (Sofia Boutella), “the most wanted fugitive in the known universe,” who is forced to return to her old ways to save the quiet farm moon of Veldt, where she lives.
As a lone wolf soldier, she has discovered a sense of belonging on the quiet farming moon – far different from her previous life as a soldier for the Imperium.

That peace is cruelly shattered when evil forces from the Motherworld knock on their door, and Kora is forced to dig up her past to save her home and the people in it.
Among the scrappy team of fighters are mercenary Kai (Charlie Hunnam), ex-Imperium general Titus (Dijmon Hounsou), refugee Miliua (E. Duffy), cyborg swordsman Nemesis (Doona Bae), ex-noble Tarak (Staz Nair ), Bloodaxe (Ray Fisher) and Devra (Cleopatra Coleman) and Veldt farmer Gunnar (Michiel Huisman).
Robot Jimmy (voiced by Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins) is also seen as backup, after many years off duty.

The trailer for part two shows Veldt's agricultural society quickly preparing for an impending invasion, as each of the “warriors must face the truths of their own past, each revealing why they fight,” according to the description of the show.
“Collect every shotgun, every knife, every ammunition in the village,” Titus tells his new recruits as he gives them weapons and hand-to-hand combat training.
“You are the only thing standing between us and destruction,” cyborg warrior Nemesis tells Kora as they prepare for the battle of battles.
With a budget of $166 million for both parts, Rebel Moon is considered the most expensive Netflix project ever.
So far, the show hasn't done well with the critics, giving it a consensus score of 23 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences gave it a much more generous score of 66 percent.
Those ratings could get higher as fans tune in to the interstellar adventure.
“OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS MOVIE AHHH,” wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“A fun popcorn movie, and that's all I ever wanted. Ready to finish the story and see how different the longer parts will be!' another responded on Instagram.
One viewer gave the project a mixed review: 'This movie was a mash-up of Avatar, Star Wars, The Matrix, Harry Potter, Cowboys and Aliens, Jupiter Ascending, Suicide Squad… the list goes on. If you look at it, you will see it.'

The $166 million project received poor reviews from critics, earning it a consensus score of 23 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, although audiences gave it a much more generous score of 66 percent.

Sofia Boutella, who is at the center of the action, has trained hard to use the various weapons Kora uses to dispatch enemy soldiers.
“I use what I learned as a dancer to learn (the fight) choreography and one of the skills I wanted to acquire is that it doesn't actually look like choreography,” she said Netflix behind the streams.
The actress said she always worried about hitting someone during the fight scenes where she used automatic weapons, knives and axes.
“It can be very annoying, it can be very difficult,” said the 41-year-old French-Algerian actress in preparation for the action scenes, “but when you do it with a team that is so well trained, it was a pleasure to photograph every fight scene.”
