Married At First Sight’s Tracey Jewel reveals debilitating health battle after surgery that left her with facial paralysis and pneumonia
Married At First Sight star Tracey Jewel has shared heartbreaking details of her battle with facial paralysis after undergoing salivary gland removal surgery.
The 40-year-old businesswoman, who shot to fame through Nine's social experiment in 2017, posted to Instagram last week a photo of herself lying in bed with her son Frankie, two, with a bandage around her neck.
“Recovering from having my salivary gland removed this week has not been easy,” the mother of two began.
“My speech is affected and I have temporary facial paralysis that will last three to six months,” she lamented.
The reality TV star then praised her son for bringing her “so much joy” by relaxing in bed with her during her recovery.

To make matters worse, Tracey also revealed that she had recently had pneumonia.
'You never know what to expect and after recovering from pneumonia 2 months ago I certainly didn't expect this to throw a spanner in the works!' she wrote.
Tracey remained positive and said she is now playing the 'waiting game' until she gets the results of her surgery back in a week.

“So for now it's bad Christmas movies and boost juice smoothies!” she mused, adding: “Thanks for all the well wishes everyone, I hope everyone stays healthy and safe this holiday season!”
It comes after Tracey shared another update on her health problems in November.
At the time, she shared two photos of herself on Instagram, in which she wore a bandage around her neck and had a ventilator over her mouth and nose.

She captioned the photos: “A reminder to slow down.”
Tracey said she added that she hasn't been able to share her health journey because she hasn't confirmed what's ailing her.
'I lost no less than 12 kilos in less than a month and ended up in hospital with pneumonia. Now I am undergoing biopsies and tests and waiting for the results,” she explained.
'For the first time in a long time I have a break. I create space to just be and not do. It will be hard to realize that we are worth it, no matter what happens and what we do.”

The reality TV star signed off with “I'll keep you posted,” followed by a love heart emoji.
Tracey welcomed her son Frankie in March 2021 with her husband and high school sweetheart Nathan Constable.
She also shares her daughter Grace with her ex-husband Jacob Anthonisz.
