Remains of killed teen Tylee Ryan will be released to her family four years after her murder by ‘doomsday mom’ Lori Vallow as stepfather Chad Daybell awaits trial for his role in her death
The remains of murdered teenager Tylee Ryan will be released to her family, four years after she was murdered by her 'Doomsday mother' Lori Vallow.
The 16-year-old and her younger brother JJ, seven, went missing in September 2019 before their bodies were discovered in her stepfather's backyard in June 2020.
Their mother Vallow was convicted in May of their murders and of conspiring to kill her husband Chad Daybell's ex-wife, Tammy. Daybell will also stand trial for the children's murders in April 2024.
An Idaho judge ruled Thursday that Tylee's remains can be released to her family. “It is hereby ordered that the body of Tylee Ryan may be released to her next of kin,” District Judge Steven Boyce said.
It comes after her brother JJ's remains were handed over to relatives in October. The state of Idaho had had custody of their bodies since the gruesome discovery.

The order to release Tylee's body means she will now have the chance to be buried by her family.
Daybell has also been charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of the young children, and a judge ruled Tuesday that he could be sentenced to death if found guilty.
His legal team had filed two motions in Fremont County on Nov. 9 asking for the death penalty to be abolished as a possible punishment. But both were dismissed by the judge presiding over the case.
Vallow was convicted in May of murdering her two children as part of a sick religious plot.
On December 7, she was back in court, facing two charges of conspiracy to murder her relatives when she descended into violent religious fanaticism.
The mother of the 'Doomsday Cult' is accused of plotting with her brother Alex Cox to kill her husband Charles Vallow in July 2019, and planning to kill her niece's husband, Brandon Boudreaux.
Vallow was extradited from Idaho to Arizona last week to face the charges. She was charged in Vallow's death in June 2021 and Boudreaux's planned murder in February 2022.
The alleged plans to kill her family members came as Vallow became obsessed with the coming apocalypse and her whirlwind marriage to doomsday author Chad Daybell in late 2019.
Vallow appeared only briefly, wearing handcuffs and an orange prison jumpsuit, giving her name and acknowledging the charges against her.

She was booked into the Maricopa County Jail after her extradition last week, where she is being held without bond.
The additional charges against her come after a grand jury indicted Vallow in 2021 in connection with the murder of Charles, who was fatally shot by Cox in her Arizona home.
Cox, who died of natural causes in December 2019, insisted he shot and killed Charles in self-defense, but prosecutors allege this was planned because the brother and sister were both descending into apocalypse belief.
It is said that Vallow and Cox, both devout Mormons, were convinced that the end times were imminent, and that their relatives had become possessed by zombies and believed that they could save them by killing them.
Prosecutors allege that the religious fanaticism was an excuse used by the family to carry out the murders.

The plot also stated that Vallow plotted to kill her niece's husband, Brandon Boudreaux, who was shot but not hit from a moving car in October 2019, shortly after JJ and Tylee were last seen alive.
Boudreaux reportedly told investigators at the time that he believed Cox was behind the wheel, and it is alleged that Cox conspired with Lori to kill Boudreaux and Charles Vallow because they expressed concern about the religious extremism that had gripped their family.
