Travis Kelce's Chiefs teammate Rashee Rice has opened up about life behind the scenes in Kansas City with Taylor Swift as the team's new biggest fan.
Thousands of Swifties have become Chiefs fans since it was revealed in September that the pop star is dating tight end Kelce, and his teammate Rice opened up about the impact in an appearance on the Airing It Out podcast.
'I am happy for Trav and she is very good at supporting the team. She has also brought many more fans to the team,” the 23-year-old said.
'I saw her, but I didn't go up to her and say, 'Can I have a picture?' or something like that.
“You know, those guys like Trav and Pat (Mahomes), they invite us because they know we're the only guys they see every day and see them for who they really are and not 'bro, you're a superstar in the football' player”.
Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice has said he won't ask Taylor Swift for a photo himself
Rice said he's happy for teammate Kelce and that Swift has brought new fans to the Chiefs
Rice also praised Swift for the support she has given the Chiefs in recent months
“No, it's just Pat. It's just Trav. And I wouldn't go up to another guy's girl and say, “I'm going to take a picture with you.”
'If my girl was away, I would say, 'Can we take a picture with the girls?', but I have nothing to do with that. But I'm happy for Trav.'
Rice, a wide receiver for the Chiefs, can expect to see more from Swift over the holidays.
She is expected to be at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day when the Chiefs play the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL.
Six days later, Swift will likely be back in Arrowhead for the New Year's Eve game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Chiefs returned to winning ways last week — with Swift watching — with a 27-17 victory over the New England Patriots, leaving their record for the season at 9-5.
“It wasn't easy, we were able to get some points,” Kelce said this week at New Heights. 'We played a well-rounded team game, with all three phases following each other. Unfortunately, as an offense, we have to cut back on turnover.”
Last year's Super Bowl winners have faltered in recent weeks with losses to the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles.
After playing the Bengals, the Chiefs will wrap up the regular season in LA against the Chargers before the playoffs.
