He had just bought a new house with Josie and was preparing to settle down with his young family.

“You don't want to believe it happened,” said Mr Drummond's shocked father, Dean Seven news.

“He had just accomplished everything he wanted.”

WA Police and Worksafe are investigating the circumstances of the accident, including reports that Mr Drummond became trapped under mining equipment.

According to the website, the ATS workshop specializes in 'repairs and reconstructions of mining machinery, components and drilling rigs'.

The fundraiser is nearing its $30,000 goal.

“Unfortunately, we recently lost Ty in one of the most unimaginable ways,” his brother wrote on the page.

“I am taking the time to start this fundraiser in hopes of taking at least some of the financial stress away from Tyrone's small family left behind.

'Tyrone has a beautiful partner called Josie and a beautiful one-year-old called Sadie and they need our help to pick up the pieces left behind by this tragedy.'

Mr Drummond was a much-loved local resident who was deeply involved with Lake View Cricket Club.

“Tyrone was Lake View's 'unofficial number one ticket holder' and founding member of the social cricket team,” the club wrote.

“This mainly meant that Ty was the first guy with a beer in his hands as he watched and laughed as his mates ran around in the 110-degree heat.”

But this season, Ty decided he had had enough of being on the sidelines and officially became a player. The fact that he has never played cricket before has not stopped him from throwing himself into the sport with all his heart.'

“It was something to see the big man finally step onto the field. A golden duck debuting in our 90th anniversary reunion game! Even a few misfields couldn't wipe the smile off his face at the end of the game.

“Our sincere condolences go out to Josie, Sadie, family and friends. We are truly sorry for your loss.”

Players wore black armbands during last weekend's matches against North Kalgoorlie in honor of Mr Drummond.

The club named Drummond as 13th man for the reserve match, while players from both sides paused for a minute's silence before the start of the A match.
