Mackay Road Rage Attack: Wild moment trading and driver trading blow in the middle of traffic

Shocking footage has captured the moment a tradie and a driver collided in the middle of traffic stopped at a red light.

A video of the punch-on was shared online on Wednesday after the pair were spotted fighting in Mackay, north Queensland.

Footage shows a man in a high-vis shirt punching and choking a man to the ground on the road.

“Get him, get the son of a bitch,” the man filming the pair shouted at them.

The tradie was seen holding the driver on the ground and raining several blows on his head.

The driver on the ground reportedly hit the tradie before the fight broke out.

“Just a couple of Mackay mungos feeding each other,” the video captioned.

The driver, stuck to the road, was seen holding his foot against the tradie in an attempt to keep him at bay.

The pair exchanged a few heated words before the tradie punched the man in the face again.

On the ground next to the wrestling couple was a baseball bat. It is understood one of the drivers took it out of his car but dropped it during the struggle.

A similar road fight broke out in Bathurst, central west NSW, on December 1.

In the video shared on social media, jokingly captioned 'UFC Bathurst', a tradie wearing a high-vis vest and black shorts stood over a truck driver and punched him with his fists.

The duo then broke up in an intense standoff, with fingers pointing, after the driver shouted “stop, stop!” heard shouting. Get off me)!'

The tradie shouted at the camera that the driver was trying to “cut him off,” but the truck driver shot back: “He fucking drove right next to me!”

A New South Wales Police spokesperson confirmed emergency services were called to the location after reports of two men fighting in the street.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and spoke to a 40-year-old man and were advised that he and another man had been involved in a fight following a road traffic incident.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, the spokesperson confirmed.

The company of one of the men involved in the incident said they self-reported the altercation to police and were cooperating with the investigation.

Their employee was not on active duty at the time of the battle.
