Plympton property: Woman in her 30s is stabbed to death and another injured in 'random attack' – as police arrest man sitting 'calmly' at the scene and allegedly brandishing a hammer
A woman is dead and another is in hospital with serious injuries after a horrific stabbing in Adelaide on Wednesday.
Emergency services rushed to a business address on Lydia Street in the suburb of Plympton about 3.40pm after the women were allegedly stabbed by a man they did not know, police said.
A woman in her 30s died at the scene and a woman in her 40s is being treated at the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.
Police are investigating an apparently random stabbing in Plympton on Wednesday afternoon
Police arrested a 30-year-old man at the scene and he is expected to be charged with murder.
Lydia Street is closed and police have asked the public to avoid the area.
The street is approximately 6.6 km from Adelaide's CBD.
