Here's Why Everyone Should Stop Serving Charcuterie Boards at Christmas: 'You're Not Sophisticated'
Thousands of people are divided over one foodie's controversial opinion on serving charcuterie boards at parties.
Comedian Ryan Kristopik challenged the hosts to show off their cheese boards after the guests left to see what wasn't eaten. It proves that no one really likes 'luxury' additions like apricots and figs.
He pointed out that people go for the meat and cheeses, but leave the dried fruit and figs behind.
“Show me the charcuterie board at the end of the party so I can see how sophisticated your friends are,” Ryan said in a TikTok video.
“Oh, no one touched the dried apricots? Do you have thirty figs left on the table?'

Comedian Ryan Kristopik pointed out that partygoers will go for the meat and cheese, but leave the dried fruit and figs on a charcuterie board.
Traditionally, charcuterie boards only contain meats, but with the rising trend, people have added cheese, crackers and colorful fruits and snacks for decoration.
Ryan was skeptical that most people who make and enjoy the appetizers are adventurous or “sophisticated” enough to pair their meat and cheese with fruit.
His clip was viewed a whopping 18.8 million times and many people in the comments were quick to agree with Ryan's opinion.
“We stopped making charcuterie boards for our parties because people just eat all the manchego and gouda and leave everything else,” one woman said.
“I eat a dried apricot every time to make sure I still hate them,” replied a second.
“I meet people who claim to like charcuterie boards but really just like Lunchables,” laughed a third.
“Everything was cleared away multiple times except my figs, apricots and brie,” another added.
“So real because I once made a killer charcuterie board for a party and literally it was just me and a toddler killing the good smelly cheeses,” one person recalled.
However, not everyone was convinced they would eat everything on a cheese and charcuterie board.
“The brie and apricots are the FIRST thing I reach for every time!” said one viewer.
“You have to know your audience when creating charcuterie boards,” another noted.
'But mixing cheese with figs is life changing…why wouldn't you!! Fruit and cheese,” a third added.
