Jessica Chastain reveals that Taylor Swift made her a ‘curated’ breakup playlist after they first met: ‘Isn’t that the sweetest thing?’

Jessica Chastain met Taylor Swift at the 2011 Met Gala when they sat next to each other.

At the time, the Scenes From a Marriage star, 46, was going through a breakup and found herself talking to the Cruel Summer singer, 34, about it.

“We were both sitting next to each other… and she was so sweet,” the Interstellar star told Jimmy Fallon on Friday's episode of The Tonight Show, promoting her new movie Memory.

She continued, “I just had a breakup and I was talking to her about it and we went dancing together – it was such a fun night.”

And the next day, she received a notification from iTunes that the 12-time Grammy winner had sent her a playlist. She thought it was an advertisement.

“And the next day I got an email from iTunes saying 'Taylor Swift' or whatever, and I just thought it was a Taylor Swift album,” Chastian said.

She opened the email to find that the Bad Blood singer had “made me a break-up playlist that she sent me!” Isn't that the best thing?'

'What are you kidding? That's incredible!' Fallon, 49, responded.

'I know! And here I thought it looked like a Taylor Swift ad,” Chastian added.

“And she had put together all these breakup songs to send to me to help me through my breakup.”

The night she met Swift was her first Met Gala and she elaborated on that experience for Fallon.

“It was like the first year I got invited to the Met Ball, the first year I released films and we were both sitting next to each other,” she said.

“We were just sitting next to Ryan Murphy, who was just starting to become successful with all his TV shows,” Chastain explained.

“And she was so sweet. I just got through a breakup and I talked to her about it. And you know, we went dancing together. It was such a nice evening.'

After the concert, she shared a carousel of photos on Instagram.
