Jimmy Barnes shares health update and reveals he is already out of bed following open heart surgery
Jimmy Barnes is already out of bed after undergoing open heart surgery this week.
In an update on Instagram, it was revealed that the legendary singer is making a speedy recovery.
“Update to all you well-wishers sending positivity. Day three after surgery we had a few walks up and down the hallway, 250 yards, I would say' it said.
'A tough and vulnerable day, but here's a big, brave smile for us. Keep up the good work Jimmy'.
In the image, Jimmy appeared cheerful despite his illness, wearing a hospital gown as he wheeled past his IV.

Earlier this week, the rocker's daughter Mahalia gave an update on her father as he recovered in the ICU.
The Australian singer, 41, told Sunrise's Sam Mac on Friday: Jimmy is doing “really well” but has “a long road ahead of him.”
She also said the support from friends and fans has been “incredible” and that they are “very grateful.”
“The outpouring of love and support has been incredible,” Mahalia said.
“I know that my mother and all of us have really appreciated it and continue to appreciate it because it's going to be a long road.”
The singer was recently rushed to the emergency room after complications from bacterial pneumonia
“We are very grateful for how much everyone loves him and how many people are showing their love for him.”
It comes after Jimmy posed on Instagram on Thursday evening to give an update on his health, with his wife Jane sharing a positive message.
'Jane is here to inform you about our Jimmy. Good progress today in the ICU. “We've had some huge tubes come out and the first visit to the physio,” she began.
'Cleaning lungs and deep breathing, we know he's good at that!'
“Our family thanks everyone (sic) for your well wishes, everyone counts, so please keep them coming.”

The singer was recently rushed to the ER after complications from bacterial pneumonia, but it appears he will make a full recovery soon.
Jimmy informed his followers on Wednesday that he underwent open heart surgery after a bacterial infection spread to his heart.
After the procedure, the Scottish-born Australian took to Instagram to let his followers know that he is healthy, happy and likely to make a full recovery.
Late last month, Jimmy was forced to cancel his headlining performance at the Rock the Boat cruise festival in Noumea, New Caledonia, after being hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia.
He was subsequently forced to withdraw from his scheduled performance at By The C in Torquay on December 2 after his condition failed to improve.
Jimmy has booked a series of sold-out headlining gigs for January and February, including multiple shows at the Red Hot Summer Tour festival.

However, Jimmy confirmed on Wednesday that his upcoming shows will likely be halted after doctors discovered his infection had spread.
Jimmy wrote in a statement: 'Unfortunately, I received some bad news late yesterday…despite everyone's best efforts, the bacterial infection I have been battling for the past two weeks has apparently now spread to my heart.
'It has infected an otherwise healthy valve that was replaced several years ago due to a birth defect, so I will have open heart surgery in the next few hours to clear this infection and insert a clean valve.
He went on to express his frustration and shock at the diagnosis, writing, “Obviously this is going to sideline me for a while. I know a lot of other people are struggling with even worse things, but it still feels incredibly frustrating. Just a few weeks ago I was the fittest I've been in decades!
“Anyway, as I hope you can imagine, this has all happened very suddenly, so it will be a few days before everyone finds out what's possible with my upcoming shows.”
