Distressing 911 call details final moments of Vegas boy Jonathan Lewis, 17, after he was fatally-beaten by pack of bullies

The disturbing 911 call after Las Vegas teen Jonathan Lewis was fatally beaten has provided a glimpse into the harrowing moments that led to his death.

Lewis, 17, was attacked by a gang of bullies in an alley near Rancho High School on Nov. 1, and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital a week later.

The chaotic, frenzied scenes of him being punched, stomped and kicked were detailed by shocked onlookers at a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police 911 dispatch center around 1:40 p.m., in a phone call obtained by 8NewsNow.

As Jonathan lay unconscious, beaten and barely breathing, an onlooker, who appeared to be a teenager, initially simply told the dispatcher, “Someone's passed out.”

The dispatcher responded, “What do you mean, like they passed out?” Or were they beaten?'

The caller clarified that a fight had occurred, before a female voice intervened and told the officer, “They say someone jumped the student and the student is unconscious.” He's breathing, but he's unconscious.'

Lawyers for those allegedly involved say Lewis and his friends started the argument over a stolen pair of headphones, and the violence started a block away on a side street from the school.

In the 911 call, the female caller says the beaten teen “was dragged from the apartments to the school, they carried him here.”

“There's bleeding on his head, he has a bump on his head and he's scratching his elbows,” they continued. “He's bleeding from his nose and his face is turning blue.”

The caller reportedly noticed that school staff, including the campus nurse, visited Lewis and attempted to revive him.

Prosecutors have arrested eight teenagers – aged 13 to 17 – identified through viral footage of the attack, which sparked widespread outrage when it was viewed by millions of people online.

Officials have said it is possible those arrested could face varying levels of culpability over the incident, which saw four of them appear in court last month while four others remain in the juvenile system.

Dontral Beaver, 16; Gianni Robinson, 17; Damien Hernandez, 17; and Treavion Randolph, 16, will all be tried together and will be tried as adults.

Aside from Hernandez, who was cited in 2021 for smoking marijuana in public, none of the older four have a criminal record.

Randolph's family previously insisted to DailyMail.com that he does not appear in the viral video showing the attack and that he is a good kid “who has never been in trouble.”

Treavion's step-grandmother Andrea Corsey, 55, said his family has been left devastated by Lewis's death and the 16-year-old's arrest.

Andrea, who is married to Treavion's grandfather Lovell Randolph Sr, 54, said: 'Everyone is devastated at what they say he did.

'I can not understand. He's never had any problems. He comes here for birthdays and holidays. It's a very sad situation.'

Randolph's uncle, who asked not to be named, added, “I saw that video. I've watched it all. You can't see Treavion there.

“They say they identified him on that video, but we're not sure. We weren't told much. We don't know much about the whole thing.'

Andrea added: 'We all looked for him (in the video) because, as you can see, he has a huge amount of hair.

“So when you don't see that, you're like, how did they identify him specifically? It's very difficult to say.'

“I'm sorry that these people behaved so cruelly… Thank you for standing up for your beliefs… I would like to fight alongside you…”

Lewis' father, Jonathan Lewis Sr., who lives in Austin, Texas, said his son was the target of the fight after he rushed to help another student who was being bullied by the bullies.

He said Jonathan was initially attacked by some students, who the 17-year-old shook off “because he was so strong.”

“But then all the other kids joined in and then beat him to death,” he added to NewsNation.

According to a fundraiser set up after Lewis' death, his decision to take action was because the other bullied student he was helping was much smaller and had items stolen from him by the group.

The page described him as “a kind, loving, gentle young man with the heart of a champion and the brightest loving energy that draws people to him with love.”

The family wrote before his death: 'He is an aspiring artist, a devoted big brother and a fierce protector of loved ones!
