Trolls target mother of the woman accused of murdering Dr Michael Yung in Adelaide home invasion

The mother of a woman accused of murdering a beloved surgeon with her boyfriend has been cruelly and unfairly attacked online.

Kerem Aydin, 22, and his partner Jacinta Davila, 27, were arrested about 7.30pm on Tuesday while shopping at Torrensville Plaza in Adelaide's inner west with their eight-month-old daughter following the death of Dr Michael Yung, 61.

Police allege the couple broke into Mr Yung's Gilberton home, a $2 million home in the city's CBD, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The top doctor suffered devastating injuries to his chest, intestines and head during the alleged home invasion and died at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Tuesday evening.

Since the couple was charged with one murder each, Davila's mother, Mary Davila, has been relentlessly tormented online.

The comments under her social media posts were flooded with aggressive trolls telling her and her daughter to 'fuck off'.

Other commenters, however, expressed sympathy for the mother.

“Leave this poor mother alone, none of us have any control over what our adult children (allegedly) do,” one said.

“We can only hope and pray that their upbringing will keep them on the right path through life.”

Aydin and Davila were also charged with serious criminal trespass and committing theft with violence.

They appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday but did not enter a plea.

Magistrate Michael Jandy heard the couple were involved in the alleged burglary through DNA on the headlight and blood stains.

Davila will return to court next Wednesday to hear whether she will be released on bail, while Aydin was remanded in custody to appear again in March.

It is understood the pair had no previous connection with Dr. Yung and reportedly picked his house at random.

Court documents alleged the couple planned to steal more than $30,000 worth of property.

Meanwhile, dramatic footage has emerged of the moment the couple were arrested at Torrensville Plaza in Adelaide's inner west about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Security footage showed a plainclothes police officer quickly approaching Aydin before knocking him to the ground.

Aydin, who was carrying a plastic shopping bag and had a bandage around his head, was filmed being thrown to the ground as the officer restrained him.

Davila, who was pushing their eight-month-old daughter in a stroller, then tried to flee the square and began running away before she too was arrested by heavily armed officers from the Special Tasks and Rescue team.

Shortly before their arrest, police allege that Aydin and Davila allegedly stole a first aid kit from a Drake's convenience store on the Square to treat Aydin's head injuries.
