Myntra surpasses 75 million new app users and achieves record customer growth
Walmart-owned online fashion retailer Myntra recorded a record 60 million monthly active users this festive season. Driven by a growing customer base, with a differentiated offering for Generation Z, and a robust portfolio of international fashion and beauty brands, the platform consolidated its position in the premium and mass-premium segments and grew faster than the market.
Backed by a technology-led experience and a choice of 2,300,000 styles, the platform registered 75 million new app users in 2023, with its loyal customer base growing 100 percent year-on-year over the past 18 months. The Gen Z fashion segment has registered a 2.25x year-on-year increase in demand on the platform. The Gen Z segment has witnessed a 175 percent year-on-year growth in the number of customers.
“We added the highest number of new users and new customers this year, while doubling our loyal customer base,” said Sunder Balasubramanian, CMO, Myntra.
The company's beauty portfolio has also more than quadrupled in the past three years and includes more than 1,500 brands and 90,000 SKUs (stock-keeping units). In the last quarter, Myntra posted 70 percent year-on-year growth in the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) category.
Technology plays a crucial role in helping the platform streamline and personalize the shopping experience for fashion and beauty consumers. Myntra Minis, a short video content offering based on the reels format, has been viewed 1 million times a day, highlighting the increasing popularity of this feature. Myntra also leverages AI and other emerging technologies to solve product discovery on the platform.
