- Dua Lipa drove fans wild after 'revealing' phone number on social media platform
Dua Lipa has sent fans wild after releasing a phone number on her account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
On the social media platform, the singer wrote “text me,” accompanied by a red lipstick emoji and the number +1 (917) 810-3415.
That area code is for New York City and follows a number of similar actions by other celebrities to increase interaction with their fans.
Stars like Lewis Capaldi, Jake Paul and Ashton Kutcher have all used the service in the past as a marketing ploy to boost their income in an unusual way while increasing fan engagement.
Kutcher previously released an automated response, which read: “Ashton here. This is an automatic text message letting you know I received your message, the rest is mine. Click on the link so I can respond to you. I probably can't respond to everything, but I'll try to keep in touch. Dream bigger.'

However, not everyone seemed to be sold on the idea of connecting with Dua Lipa, who received a number of negative responses to her post on X.
One user wrote: 'Delete this'.
A second added: “I have a wife, no thanks.”
A third posted: 'Ain't no way lmao'.
Another commented: “Girl you ain't texting back.”
Due to complex algorithms on social media platforms, celebrities have turned to apps like Community as they want to maintain the focus and engagement of their most ardent and loyal fans.
Community grew out of another company, Shimmur, which was founded in 2014 by Matthew Peltier and Josh Rosenheck.
It was intended as a mobile app, similar to Reddit, that allowed users to create and upload content about their favorite YouTubers and influencers.
A post on Community's website about the company's history reads: 'Community is the customer engagement text messaging platform that connects businesses, brands, political and public figures, creators, musicians, celebrities and more with their audiences at scale through a unique 10-digit telephone number.
“The community is led by President and CEO, Diankha Linear, who is overseeing its expansion to welcome Fortune 500 and the most innovative Enterprise companies to its platform. The company was founded in 2019 by Guy Oseary, Ashton Kutcher, Matthew Peltier and Josh Rosenheck. In 2022, Robert Wolf joined as community chairman.”
