As a real sign of how untouched the house has been, one of the windows appears to be broken.

Last year, the house sparked an arson investigation after it caught fire in July 2021.

At the time, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman said they had received a report of a suspicious person near the mansion when the fire broke out at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday evening. NOLA.com reported.

A source told NOLA.com that the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, where firefighters found books in an oven, and a gas can was also seen in the house.

According to the city’s fire department, the historic building has been vacant for some time, although it does have working utilities.

Firefighters were alerted to the incident when a smoke alarm in the three-storey Spanish Baroque building was triggered and 22 staff members responded. The fire was completely extinguished two hours later.

Built in 1927 as the Westminster Presbyterian Church, the spacious property features six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, covering an area of ​​15,200 sq.
