Firefighter dies while battling Grose Vale house fire

A firefighter has been killed while battling a blaze that hit a suburban property.
Emergency services were called just before 8am on Tuesday to reports of a house fire on Grose Vale Road, in Gross Vale, about 10 kilometers west of Richmond, northwest of Sydney.
NSW Police notified the firefighter, a 51-year-old man, who was on call with Fire and Rescue NSW, when he was alerted to the fire.

The man collapsed on the spot while putting out the flames that had engulfed the house.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man, but he could not be revived and later died.
A crime scene has been cordoned off and investigations into the incident have begun.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Fire and Rescue NSW confirmed in a statement that the man had died fighting the fire and said they were working with police to investigate the man's cause of death.
“Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) regrets to announce this morning that a firefighter has died following a house fire in Grose Vale, northwest of Sydney,” the statement said.
FRNSW is working with other authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and also provide support to the man's family, his crew and others affected by this tragedy.
“Our condolences go out to the firefighter's family, friends and colleagues at this tragic time.”

Shocking images show thick plumes of smoke coming from the building after the fire broke out.
The fire raged in the home and parts of a two-storey building were completely flooded.
More firefighters were seen at the scene to help tackle the blaze, with a fire truck entering the road leading to the house.
