Taylor Swift conquers America’s political divide: Republicans and Democrats AGREE that entertainer is talented and beautiful (but a bit OVERRATED) in new survey
Her concert tour is the first to gross more than a billion dollars and her love life has increased coverage of the NFL.
Now Taylor Swift has captured another part of American life, a new poll shows. She can unite the two sides of the country's bitter political divide like no other.
When a thousand Americans were asked to sum up the singer in one word, Republicans and Democrats came up with the same description: “Talented.”
Overall, Democrats were slightly more positive in their speech choices, according to results from pollster JL Partners.
Among Republicans, 60 percent of responses were positive and 11 percent negative; Among Democrats, 72 percent gave positive comments and 13 percent gave a negative description.
According to a new study, Taylor Swift has overcome the political divide in America like no other. When asked for one word to describe the singer, Republicans and Democrats agreed on the same word: “talented.”
JL Partners surveyed 1,000 Americans and produced a word cloud of the results
The positive responses focused on words such as popular, beautiful and beautiful.
And perhaps unsurprisingly for a woman whose every step – whether on stage or in a football stadium – is breathlessly followed by adoring media, negative comments reflected her ubiquity.
Once again, Republicans and Democrats used the same words: “Overrated” and “annoying.”
But in the study they were overshadowed by positive words.
Julian Gallie, research associate at JL Partners, said Swift has always had the support of her most vocal fans, known as 'Swifties'.
“What these polls show is that her meteoric rise has grown far beyond that of diehard fans,” he said.
'Taylor Swift is viewed positively by two-thirds of Americans, while only 10% have an unfavorable opinion.
'Haters who are going to hate, hate, hate are now an insignificant minority. In an increasingly polarized America, Swift stands as a beacon of unity.”
Last week, Swift was named Time's “Person of the Year,” capping off a record-breaking year.
Among Democrats, 72 percent gave positive comments and 13 percent gave a negative description. Republicans were slightly more skeptical in their view of Swift
On Sunday, Swift was back at Arrowhead Park to see friend Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ticket sales from her North American performances alone are expected to gross more than $2 billion; she was named the top streaming artist on both Spotify and Apple Music; and a recent report suggested that its impact on the US economy could be worth almost $5 billion in total.
Those headlines have contributed to the survey results, with Republicans more likely to tip their hats to her business acumen.
“Successful” and “driven” are among the words they choose for the singer, who turns 34 on Wednesday.
“As leading political figures alienate or divide, this poll shows Swift's unique ability to unite,” Gallie added.
'Grandparents talk fondly about their grandchild's favorite singer; boyfriends “tolerate” her because of their partners; Traditional Republicans are “a lot of fun to watch in the stands” cheering on Travis Kelce.
'One respondent called on Taylor Swift to save democracy. If Swift chooses this path, she may find enough support to add the presidency to her long and impressive list of accomplishments.”
The 33-year-old pop star has swept it all this year and was named Time's 'Person of the Year' last week
It might not be a bad idea.
The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin recently suggested that she could win if she decided to run for office.
“To be honest, if it looks like Donald Trump is going to win, she's just going to have to get in the race and beat him once and for all because she's probably the only person who can,” the former Trump aide.
Swift has made no suggestion that she is interested in running.
And on Sunday, Swift was once again at Arrowhead Park in Kansas City, Missouri to watch friend Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs.
She was spotted after the game holding the tight end's hand after the Chief suffered a second straight loss.
It was her sixth game of the season, after flying in from New Jersey in the morning.
