I'm A Celeb's Sam Thompson is set for a new job on This Morning, as ITV welcomes him to the family to work with fellow Jungle star Josie Gibson

I'm A Celeb champion Sam Thompson is set to take on a presenting role on This Morning as ITV welcomes him to their extended family.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, took home the title of Jungle King during the series finale on Sunday night, earning a whopping 56.64 percent of the public vote.

And bosses at the daytime show are hoping to maximize his popularity by signing Sam as their new Showbiz correspondent, given his enthusiasm for television.

During his winners speech after being crowned by Josie Gibson, Sam said taking part in this year's I'm A Celeb line-up was a 'dream come true' and winning the competition was beyond his wildest imagination.

Sources close to the presenter say it would be brilliant to have him back on the channel alongside former Jungle campmate and This Morning presenter Josie. After proving he can't do anything, Sam would be a fantastic addition to the ITV family.

There is also speculation that he could star alongside runner-up Tony Bellew in a travel series following the pair's bromance in the jungle.

A source told MailOnline: 'There is no one who loves TV more than Sam Thompson, as he has proven during his time in the jungle.

'The ITV viewers love him now too and after winning I'm A Celeb in a landslide, it makes sense to keep him on the channel and use his new profile.

'Producers are keen to get him on the show during days when Josie is presenting and then there's Marvin Humes. It is important for them to nurture their talent once they have it.”

TV bosses hope Sam can follow in the footsteps of the former Jungle Queen and his ex-Made In Chelsea co-star Georgia Toffolo, 29, who landed a role on This Morning after winning I'm A Celeb in 2017.

There is also speculation he could star in a travel series alongside runner-up Tony Bellew, 41, following the pair's jungle bromance.

Replicating the success of his partnership with ex-TOWIE star Pete Wicks, the Chelsea favorite grew close to the heavyweight boxer and played up his boisterous personality in comparison to Sam's giddy enthusiasm.

Sam became a regular face on ITV2 this year after joining the presenting panel of Love Island spin-off show Aftersun, alongside presenter Maya Jama, 29, and former Islander Indiyah Polack, 25.

He met his long-term girlfriend Zara McDermott, 26, after she shot to fame on the series in 2018 and has since made a name for himself as a Love Island superfan.

A source told MailOnline that Sam joining the This Morning family would see a reunion between him and regular presenter Marvin Humes and presenter Josie Gibson.

And Zara starred in Strictly Come Dancing this year as her commitments to the BBC show prevented her from flying to Australia, forcing Pete to meet Sam as he crossed the bridge.

Instead, the documentary maker hosted a huge party at Sam's home, attended by his mother Karen, sister Louise, her fiancé Ryan and their child Leo.

When Sam was declared the winner, his friends and family watching the events from London shouted with happiness and his sister Louise later posted on Instagram that she was so 'proud' of her younger sibling.

Sam is being celebrated by viewers for embracing his ADHD, which became the subject of the star's Channel 4 documentary earlier this year.

The programme, which aired in May, saw Sam diagnosed with ADHD and autism after admitting he had struggled all his life with his short attention span and hyperactive personality.
