Horrible moment driver collides with elderly woman on mobility scooter in Perth
Terrifying footage has captured the moment an elderly lady on her mobility scooter was hit by a car.
The woman had been trying to cross the road in Perth when she was suddenly hit by the vehicle on Friday.
Dashcam footage from a passing car was shared on Facebook showing how the horrific collision happened.
The older woman, wearing a white sun hat, had been trying to cross a dual carriageway and reach the center.
The video showed her slowing down after noticing an oncoming car.
The scooter driver was seen crossing two lanes of the busy road before slowing down at the double lines
She signaled the driver to cross the road, and the oncoming car slowed down to let her pass.
The older woman was about to cross the last lane and had almost reached the street when she was hit by a white Camry.
The driver of the car immediately hit the brakes, leaving the other driver stunned.
“I knew this would happen,” they were heard saying off camera.
The impact of the crash forced the lady and her scooter sideways, causing the woman to fall to the ground.
The video showed her slowly getting back on her feet.
Social media users were divided over who was responsible for the accident, with some claiming the elderly lady should not have crossed the road.

“Mobility scooters don't belong on the road,” someone commented.
“I've always called them Jesus chairs because most of them drive, it's the fastest way they can meet him,” wrote another.
“Definitely not shocked,” said another.
But some social media users believed it was up to the white Camry to avoid the collision.
“Yet that Camry driver was slow to react, the driver still could have avoided that,” they wrote.
Another said: 'The white car didn't slow down at all, luckily it wasn't a hoon speeding!'
