Lavish Christmas: Gemma Owen's famous footballer dad Michael Owen has revealed what he has in store for his family this Christmas and it looks like it could be an expensive Christmas
Michael, 43, recently admitted to The Mirror that he doesn't do anything half-heartedly when it comes to his family at Christmas
He said: 'So I have all my brothers, sisters, parents, Louise's brother, parents and all their children. So every year we receive between 25 and 30 people, which is a wonderful thing to be able to do. Will I get stuck while cooking? Absolutely not. It's the only extravagance, I think it's the best investment of the year, and that's getting a chef, the caterers
'We used to do 'mum, you do the starters' and 'mother-in-law, you do the main courses', and at the end you have Christmas dinner, you set up seats for thirty people and there are only about 5 people because everyone is rushing. It's just pointless. So I said, 'Okay, we're going to get catering,' and the best money I spend every year is to have a few people come and cook.”
The expert also added that he is the “life and soul of the party” and loves being a fantastic host for all guests.
“I'm probably the life and soul of the party. I'm a real attention seeker. It has to be all about me: when we host, I'm the one starting the games or dancing on the tables.” He joked.
It comes after the former Newcastle United star teamed up with Peacocks to release his clothing line earlier this year.
The range includes everything from simple T-shirts to sophisticated clothing.
The clothing line promises a range of 'wardrobe essentials and stylish basics that won't break the bank'.
But once the clothing line took off, fans of the footballer labeled Michael 'beyond partridge' and cringed at the England legend for showcasing a new Peacocks fashion collection.
This year, the former professional footballer claimed that he is bringing in caterers to provide a banquet for up to 30 people.
One hardcore fan joked: 'A rare perfect match between brand and personality.'
While another said: 'Oh my God. The horror of everyday life.'
Fans of the footballer also jokingly compared Michael to cartoon character Alan Partridge, a crazy presenter in casual sportswear.
One viewer who saw the Peacocks advert claimed it was 'more than partridge', while another viewer joked 'so partridge'.
