The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are tipped to get major display changes
When the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 arrive, they will bring some significant changes in the display department, according to the latest rumors we've heard about these foldable phones.
According to known tipster Naver (through GSMArena), both the inner and outer screens of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will change in aspect ratio. No further details are given, except that the design will also be carried over to the Samsung Galaxy S25.
The outer screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a fairly narrow 23.1:9, but there is speculation that this could become wider in the future – perhaps towards the 19.5:9 of the Samsung Galaxy S23 flagship which was launched earlier this year.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, the same source says this phone will get another new screen size, as well as narrower bezels, compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 – that phone has a 3.4-inch cover screen, up from 1 .9 inches the year before.
Positive changes
These are changes that make a lot of sense: it means the Z Fold 6 will look more like a normal phone in terms of dimensions when closed, and of course a larger cover screen on the Z Flip 6 will make things even easier. Can be used when closed.
While nothing is certain until these foldable models launch, there have been previous rumors along the same lines: an earlier leak around the Z Flip 6 mentioned that the cover screen expanded from corner to corner to a size of 3.9 inches.
Faster processors are also to be expected, although we've heard that the camera settings in the Z Fold 6 may not change much compared to the Z Fold 5. It's one of the areas where the device lags behind the competition.
On the other hand, the Z Flip 6 will get a camera upgrade, if we can believe the rumors so far. Everything should be revealed around August, if Samsung follows the same launch schedule as this year.
