Heartwarming moment Prince William surprises woman on the street during charity walk in memory of her daughter, 16, who took her own life
This is the heartwarming moment Prince William surprised a woman during a charity walk in memory of her late daughter.
In a video posted on FacebookEmma Webb is left shocked when the Prince of Wales appears out of nowhere to join her on day 13 of a fundraising trek from Wales to London.
Mrs Webb, who lost her daughter Brodie – a promising equestrian – to suicide aged 16 in March 2020, wants to raise awareness of mental health among young people.
Pulling a life-size horse statue across a sidewalk near Slough – and unaware of the future king's presence behind her – the prince casually strolls towards her before embracing her in a warm hug.
On her Facebook page, a stunned Emma wrote: 'So day 13 and this happened. How incredibly kind and supportive. Stay tuned for the biggest surprise.'

The video opens with a clip of Ms Webb with a group of friends as they stand on a busy street, ready to take photos to commemorate day 13 of their fundraising journey.
One of her friends opens an umbrella as the weather turns. Quite comically, the large mobile horse – brought along for the ride because Brodie was a keen horse rider – was the only one to benefit from the shelter of the umbrella, as the friend placed him on top of the statue's head.
While the women seemed engrossed in the photo session, a man quickened his pace and walked towards the entourage.
Dressed in a khaki jacket, neat blue trousers and brown leather lace-up shoes, it becomes clear that Prince William is the mystery man.
The prince immediately steps in front of Emma to get her attention.
Stunned and in disbelief, the mother pauses for a moment before holding her face and letting out a huge, breathtaking scream.
The prince seems pleased to support Emma's initiative and immediately steps forward for a big hug – while her friends scream in shock.

Emma has so far raised £30,000 towards the trek for her daughter, who was a rising star in the show jumping world, with all A star predictions for her GCSEs. She disappeared into a patch of local woods, ending her short life.

Coping with the loss hasn't been easy for Emma, but she has since vowed to keep the memory of her only child alive by raising awareness through events like this walk.
Emma said her daughter showed no warning signs that she intended to take her life
According to memorial and charity site Do It For Brodie, other than having problems with friends at school, there were no warning signs that Brodie would take her life.
Emma said of the loss of her 'beautiful and talented daughter': 'I'm a mother, but now I don't have a child. I have all this love and nowhere to put it.
“So I've tried to channel it into helping other people's children, to make sure what happened to Brodie will never happen to them.”
