A California man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after killing a prominent sex therapist who was once engaged to Drew Carey.

Gareth Pursehouse, 45, was given the stiff sentence Wednesday — the maximum amount allowed after executions were halted earlier this year under an official moratorium from Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Just over two months ago, the disgraced comedian – and accused stalker – was convicted of first-degree murder for the slaying of 38-year-old Amie Harwick, which happened more than three years ago in her Hollywood Hills home.

There, Pursehouse – who was accused of stalking ex-girlfriend Harwick for a decade after a bad breakup – waited for hours before strangling the former Playboy model, before throwing her body off the third-floor balcony so police could find.

He wore a dark-colored face mask and Carey-style glasses in court Wednesday as a judge told him he would never go out on the streets again.

The verdict also stipulates that Pursehouse will never be granted parole during his incarceration, which will begin immediately in a California state prison.

It was issued after several members of the victims' family spoke in court about how Pursehouse's actions have indelibly affected them.

As they reprimanded the scammer – who dated Harwick for a year and a half before allegedly harassing her for more than a decade – he solemnly hung his head, seemingly expressionless.

Among the speakers were Tom Harwick, the father of the murdered marriage and sex counselor, and Penny Harwick, the woman's mother. Among others were family members and friends affected by the killing, which prosecutors proved was premeditated.

Harwick's father began, “My name is Tom Harwick, and I am the forever grieving father of my dearly departed daughter Amie.”
