The video comes from Huffman High School in Birmingham, one of seven high schools in the state's largest city.

Two female students look at each other from the school lunchroom before one of them walks towards the other, while other students can be heard in the background.

One of the students then grabs the other by the top of her hair and tries to drag her past, while a person behind the camera shouts expletives.

Finally, an adult is seen trying to clean up the lunchroom scene.

Before the video ends, you can see one of the fighters being pulled out of the fight by several fellow students.

The school has not yet commented on the brawl, which went viral after a journalist posted it Andy Ngo. About 71 percent of students are economically disadvantaged and 99 percent are minorities American news and world report.

Nothing is known about any injuries sustained by any of the students involved in the fight.

Huffman High School has been tense in recent weeks after a 17-year-old student was fatally shot, according to WVTM.

Officials say they found Adonnis Xavier Bishop McQueen in the middle of the road on November 12. McQueen was a senior at Huffman.

Just a week ago, a similar brawl was seen at a North Carolina high school, leaving one student dead and another hospitalized.

The pair run into the school gym, followed by dozens of screaming and cheering students filming on their phones.

A fight ensues, with a student on the ground pulling out a knife and stabbing another in the leg and groin.

When the children fled, there was no one on the ground. But one of the students was later pronounced dead and the second was hospitalized.

Two ambulances were seen leaving Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School early Monday afternoon, each followed by a police vehicle.

Police say they have arrested a suspect, but will not say what led to the fight and fatal incident. None of the names of the students involved have been released.

The first call came in around 11am, when a school employee called for help and support, saying a student had been stabbed.

Shortly afterwards, another student was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing.

'He is currently losing consciousness. We're in the main gym,” you heard a female voice say over the police radio traffic.

A male voice said, “Can you get the administrators to lock down the school?”

According to the Raleigh Police Department, a fight broke out involving several students. In a social media post, the incident was described as a “serious attack.”
