The Halo TV show’s second season looks like it’s full of action this time
Halo's first season was not good. It made bizarre changes to the games' story and lore. There was hardly any action between the Spartans and the Covenant, and Master Chief spent half the season with his helmet off (and often more than that). But it looks like Paramount has discovered the problem, as the trailer for the show's second season is basically all epic-looking battles.
The first trailer for Season 2 was released on Saturday at the CCXP convention in Brazil, and the main focus is on a variety of battle sequences. Sure, we still get a few shots of brooding Spartans, something the first season was full of, and Master Chief helmetless and stiff, but we also get Covenant ships rising above a cloud deck and an Elite cutting a man in half with an energy sword. In other words, it's a trailer full of exactly what we hoped Season 1 would include: something similar to the Halo games people love.
Don't get me wrong, it's entirely possible that this is just a good trailer, rather than an indication of a good TV season. After all, Season 1 also had some pretty nice fights, but they were few and far between, ultimately only consisting of about three scenes in a nine-episode season.
But I still want to believe that a good Halo show can exist, and this trailer at least gives me a lot more hope than the first season's trailers.
Good or bad, Halo season 2 will premiere on Paramount Plus starting February 8, 2024.
