Cher has expressed her regret after making a huge mistake on her iconic 1998 hit Believe, which left her losing hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The music superstar, 77, told how despite writing a key line in the song, she failed to ask for credit before the song sold 11 million copies worldwide.
She told Vernon Kay on Radio 2's Tracks Of My Years: 'You can't even imagine it, about thirty people wrote on it. And I was so stupid. I didn't ask. I didn't even get a writing credit.”
“I wrote, 'I've had time to think about it, and maybe I'm too good for you.'
Before concluding: 'It sold 11 million copies. I could have gotten a lot of money.”

The pop song reached number one in the British and American charts and won the award for Best Dance Recording at the 2000 Grammys.
It comes after the legendary star revealed she wasn't a fan of her music and barely listened to her own songs while discussing her career on The Graham Norton Show.
Graham made sure to ask about her Christmas album, and then she admitted that she's not a “big Cher fan” and doesn't listen to her songs anymore once they're released.
When asked by the presenter whether she listens to her own music, she says: 'Not really. I listened to it until I was sure it was right, but I'm not a big Cher fan!'
Cher released her first festive album, Christmas, in October this year and has been on a promotional tour of Britain and the US.
When asked why she hadn't made a Christmas album before, she said: 'I didn't want to.
'When I said yes, I wanted to do it myself in my own home. I picked songs that I like, and I hate to say it myself, but it's good!'

In addition to releasing a new album, the singing sensation is also currently writing a biopic about her life.
Cher revealed that choosing the lead character for the film is the “hardest” part because of how much she has accomplished in her life.
She said: 'It's the hardest thing there is. I have lived too long and done so much; it's very difficult to cast, and we haven't even finished the script yet.' And he added: 'I will do all the music myself, because I don't like imitation.'
While talking about the upcoming film, Graham asked Cher if she was a diva.
The star said: 'Don't be ridiculous, I'm the least diva-like person. That (behavior) doesn't make sense to me.'
It comes after Cher revealed she has returned to work on her memoir after 'completely falling out' while promoting her Christmas album on The Tonight Show.

During the performance, Jimmy Fallon, 49, asked her about the release of her memoir.
“Yes,” Cher said disinterestedly, wearing an all-black outfit and fingerless black gloves.
“I was just completely gone, because I think I was, I don't know what I was, I was just completely gone,” Cher said.
“I haven't put some things in there that need to be put in, and they're not comfortable, but they need to be put in there. So I have to go back and fix it,” she added.
“I feel like I'm out of therapy, it's hard,” Jimmy said.
Jimmy asked if she had a title for the memoir and Cher said she didn't have one yet.
“Should we come up with one?” Jimmy asked and Cher agreed it could be a great game.
Jimmy then excitedly suggested that it could be titled “Over-Cher-Ing,” but Cher did not share his enthusiasm for it.
