Tragic update after Australian baby ‘violently shaken’ to death: Heartbreaking image taken before his death
A 10-month-old baby who died after reportedly being violently shaken and then falling into a crib has been photographed for the first time.
Khaylan Shane Butler was taken to hospital from a home in Warrane, southern Tasmania, with serious injuries in the early hours of Friday morning.
In a new photo of the blue-eyed child, Khaylan wears a gray sweater and smiles at the camera while lying on his back on a fluffy rug.

“Our condolences go out to the baby's family and loved ones,” the statement said.
“The police investigation is ongoing.”
Daniel John Ridgers, 25, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the baby by violently shaking him and dropping him into a crib.
Ridgers did not enter a plea or apply for bail during an out-of-hours hearing in the Hobart Magistrate Court on Sunday and was remanded in custody.
He will appear in court on Monday, December 4.
Khaylan Shane Butler was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital (pictured) from a home in Warrane, southern Tasmania, in a critical condition early on Friday morning.
Detectives previously said they believed the baby was injured in a “serious assault” but warned the investigation was expected to take “some time”.
“Police were called to the Royal Hobart Hospital at around 5.20am… after a child suffered serious injuries that are believed to be suspicious,” police said in a statement on Saturday.
The investigation continues.
