The Cleveland Browns are turning to Joe Flacco as the team's next starting quarterback.

Flacco will start for the Browns against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday after Dorian Thompson-Robinson suffered a concussion against the Denver Broncos last weekend and will not be allowed to play.

Cleveland started the season with Deshaun Watson at quarterback, but he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery last month.

Flacco will be supported on Sunday by PJ Walker, who also started two games this season.

The Browns are turning to Flacco, the 2012 Super Bowl MVP with the Baltimore Ravens, at a critical time in their season.

Joe Flacco has been playing in the NFL since 2008 and will start his first game for the Browns on Sunday

For all their issues at quarterback, the Browns are 7-4 and currently in the playoffs.

The hunt for the last few postseason spots in the AFC is heating up, with five teams within a game of a Wild Card spot.

Flacco signed with the Browns less than two weeks ago and has already been given the keys to the offense.

Notably, Flacco spent a decade playing for an AFC North division rival, the Baltimore Ravens. He also spent time with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos.

Only seven times since 1950 has a team started four different winning quarterbacks. The last occasion was the 2015 Houston Texans.
