- LAPD believes a hooded male suspect is responsible for the three murders
LAPD has warned that a serial killer may be on the loose after three homeless people were murdered last week.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect responsible for three murders that occurred on November 26, 27 and 29 in downtown and South Los Angeles, California.
The LAPD said the investigation is in its early stages but noted similarities in these three murders.
“One person approached them all and shot them dead while they were sleeping,” said LAPD Chief Michel Moore.
“The suspect, wearing a hood, targets lone, unprotected individuals sleeping on the street and shoots them before fleeing in a vehicle without any observed altercation,” the LAPD reported during a press conference on Friday afternoon.
“To the person responsible: We will find you, we will catch you and you will be held accountable,” Mayor Karen Bass said.

A 37-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in south Los Angeles.
The next day, around 4:45 a.m., a homeless man in his 50s was shot dead in downtown LA, and the third victim, in his 60s, was murdered the day after.
Moore did not use the term “serial killer” but said the three victims were found dead under similar circumstances.
