Manchester United are reportedly being investigated by Trafford Council after the club 'served raw chicken' at an Old Trafford event which 'reportedly made several people sick'.
According to The Athleticsthe club is also 'conducting an internal investigation' after several people who attended the event claimed they became ill from the uncooked chicken.
The outlet reports that the event has taken place at the club's stadium “over the past few months,” but adds that “the exact nature of the event is not yet known.”
Mail Sport has contacted the football club for further comment.
The Athletic also claims the investigation aims to determine whether the guests' “symptoms were related to what they consumed at Old Trafford” or whether the alleged illness came from another source.
It comes as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's £1.3 billion takeover of Man United is set to complete in the coming weeks, with the petrochemical magnate set to take control of the club's football operations.

Mail Sport understands that Ratcliffe is expected to invest £245 million in the club's infrastructure.
Despite this, the club currently has a food hygiene rating of 'Five – Very Good' according to the government's Food Standards Agency (FSA), with United's last inspection taking place on October 23, 2023.
The website also currently rates the club's 'food safety management' as 'good', while their 'hygienic food handling' is also rated 'good'.
Yet the report could call into question the Red Devil's hygiene assessment and require the club to spend money on improving their catering procedures.
The FSA is a government department responsible for food safety and preparation and aims to protect members of the public from health risks associated with the consumption of food.

They are currently listed on the Food Standards Agency website with a food hygiene rating of 'Five – Very Good'
They give catering companies across the UK a score out of five, with one being the lowest, after an inspection that takes into account the way organizations handle, store, prepare and cook.
In serious cases, the agency has the authority to close a business and cease operations.
On match days, United's hospitality packages help the club generate significant revenue.

The Red Devils are in action at home against Chelsea on December 6 and travel to St James' Park to play Newcastle this weekend.
